Our Story

Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished corporate story. Started wrenching on my dad's old Bimmers back in the garage when I was like 15, got hooked on that feeling when you finally nail down that weird electrical gremlin or squeeze another 50hp outta something the dealership said was "running fine".

2005

Started out in my uncle's tiny shop off Hastings. Mostly oil changes and brake jobs, but hey, everyone's gotta start somewhere. Learned real quick that nobody teaches you how to deal with a rusted-to-hell exhaust manifold at 2am when the customer needs their car by morning.

2011

Got my ASE Master cert and went all-in on European stuff. Spent a year in Germany working at a Porsche specialist shop - those guys don't mess around. Came back to Vancouver with a completely different understanding of what "properly fixed" actually means.

2016

Opened Obsidian Shroud on Commercial Drive. Finally had the space to do things right - proper lifts, diagnostic tools that cost more than my first car, and enough room to actually work without banging your knuckles every five seconds. Started specializing in performance tuning 'cause honestly, that's where the fun's at.

2020

Added collision repair and frame straightening. Picked up some serious equipment and brought in Sarah who'd been doing body work for Mercedes dealerships for like 15 years. Now we can handle pretty much anything from a fender bender to a full restoration.

2025

We're not the biggest shop in Vancouver, but we've built something I'm genuinely proud of. Small team, everyone knows their stuff inside-out. We don't cut corners, don't use cheap parts, and won't BS you about what your car actually needs. That's pretty much the whole philosophy right there.

What We're Actually About

Real talk - there's a lot of shops out there that'll throw parts at your car until something sticks, charge you for stuff you don't need, or just straight-up lie about what's wrong. Drives me nuts. We're here 'cause we actually give a damn about doing this right.

Our crew's tight - three master techs, a body specialist who's an absolute wizard with metalwork, and a diagnostic guy who can track down electrical issues that'd make other shops just throw their hands up. We don't hire people who just want a paycheck, we bring on folks who get legitimately excited about solving weird car problems.

Specialized in European stuff 'cause honestly, that's what we love working on. BMWs, Audis, Mercedes, Porsches, even the occasional Alfa when someone's feeling brave. These cars are complex as hell but rewarding when you really understand 'em. Plus the engineering's just better - sorry not sorry to the domestic guys.

The Team

Not gonna write some corporate bios here. Just real people who know their way around an engine bay.

Jake Morrison

Lead Diagnostic Tech

Former dealer tech who got tired of replacing parts that didn't need replacing. Scary good with a scan tool. If your check engine light's on, he's your guy.

Sarah Kim

Body & Paint Specialist

Makes crashed cars look like nothing ever happened. Trained in Germany, perfectionist to a fault. Won't let a car leave unless the panel gaps are absolutely perfect.

Dev Patel

Performance Tuning Specialist

Lives and breathes ECU tuning. Spent years at a track-focused shop before joining us. If you want more power without blowing something up, he's who you need.

Why We Do This

Honestly? Because there's nothing quite like the feeling when you figure out that one problem that's been bugging someone for months, or when you hand back keys to a customer and their car runs better than it has in years. That's the good stuff right there.

Yeah, we could cut corners, use cheaper parts, rush jobs through faster. Make more money that way probably. But then we'd just be another generic shop, and what's the point of that? Rather take our time, do it properly, and actually be able to sleep at night knowing we didn't screw anyone over.

If you're looking for the absolute cheapest option, we're probably not your place. But if you want your car fixed right the first time by people who actually care about what they're doing, then yeah, we should talk.
